About the role:

Our client is an international design studio based in the heart of London, specialising in creating luxurious, immersive and high-end design solutions for large-scale cruise ships and the marine sector across the globe. They are looking for a skilled and experienced BIM Coordinator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in BIM Coordination, a passion for innovative design, and a strong background in hospitality or resort architecture, with cruise ship experience being a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Building Information Models (BIM) for interior fit-out and cruise ship design projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards. 
  • Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and engineers to coordinate and integrate BIM processes across multi-disciplinary teams. 
  • Oversee and Implement BIM workflows and protocols, maintaining the highest levels of quality, consistency, and efficiency throughout all project stages.
  • Identify and resolve design clashes, manage model revisions, and ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs to clients. 
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to meet deadlines, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets. 
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and advancements in BIM technology to ensure innovative solutions are applied.       

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience as a BIM Coordinator or in a similar role, with cruise ship design being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit. Dynamo, Navisworks, CDE’s, Enscape and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of BIM Level 2 standards, workflows, and coordination processes. 
  • You are a problem solver with strong design and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex BIM projects on time, within budget and across different RIBA stages. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients. 
  • Experience with cruise ship interiors or large-scale marine projects is desirable. 
  • You present a portfolio of similar work showing experience on medium or large-scale UK luxury hotels or hospitality projects.
  • Enthusiastic and self-initiated.

Join a fantastic, award-winning architecture firm renowned for designing inspiring spaces to live, work, and unwind. With offices in London and Poland, this medium-sized practice, home to a talented team of 50 professionals, is now seeking a skilled BIM Manager to join their team.

This role is ideal for an experienced BIM Manager with at least three years of BIM management experience or a Senior BIM Coordinator ready to step into a managerial role. The ideal candidate will have a strong architectural background, exceptional BIM expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of modern digital construction concepts.

 

Knowledge,skills and abilities

  • Qualified as an Architect or Architectural Technologist with sound technical understanding of UK construction processes, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years UK professional work experience as a BIM Manager or senior level BIM Coordinator.
  • Experience working on large residential and commercial projects and delivering projects using Revit across all RIBA work stages, particularly from Stage 3 onwards.
  • Experience working on BIM Level 2 with a detailed understanding of ISO 19650 compliancy.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, appointment and information protocol, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Minimum of 5 years advanced Revit and AutoCAD experience essential for this position.
  • Experience of Navisworks essential.
  • Experience of running clash detection and producing clash reports.
  • Experience of Dynamo essential.
  • Knowledge of Solibri, Revitzo and BIM Collab advantageous.
  • Knowledge of NBS Chorus advantageous.
  • Knowledge of visualisation technologies and their place in the BIM workflow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Possess strong people skills and leadership skills.

  

Responsibilities

  • Review and mitigate risk.
  • Support bid and early-stage client liaison for BIM aspirations
  • Based on Client requirements, develop a pre-construction BIM Execution Plan, establish and set up project BIM protocols, host BIM kick-off meetings with all parties and further meetings as required
  • Guide, support and review the delivery of Client requirements and agreed protocols produced by the team, assisting as required to ensure workflow and meet production schedules
  • Overseeing the use of BIM/Revit software company wide, including configuring, maintaining and supporting all BIM related software installations.
  • Maintaining and developing DA Revit Template and all BIM/Revit manuals and protocols, ensuring alignment and compliance with ISO 19650.
  • Setting up Revit projects, supporting start-up co-ordination and setting out project BIM Strategy.
  • Maintaining company specific Revit Library.
  • Maintaining project BEPs.
  • Monitoring and assessing staff Revit skill levels and identifying training needs. Providing and organising end-user training.
  • Enforcing DA BIM Standards and regularly auditing project models to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Troubleshooting Revit related issues.
  • Assisting in and creating content in response to project needs.
  • Identifying and evaluating new, relevant BIM related software and technologies.
  • Reporting to the Board.

Your responsibilities will include leveraging a strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools, and practices to enhance workflow collaboration and efficiency throughout project delivery. You will also monitor the performance and quality of BIM models, ensuring they meet project-specific BIM requirements and standards.

  

What makes you good at your job:

  • Background in architecture or engineering, with a professional degree from an accredited university
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit and other relevant BIM authoring packages
  • Proficient with Dynamo
  • Familiarity with ISO19650 (e.g. BIM execution plan,common data environment, etc)
