What is your role:

Your role will encompass the following responsibilities: overseeing architectural design, coordinating the Design Team, and managing contract administration for assigned projects. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in key commercial activities and contribute to the growth of the business through Business Development efforts. Your expertise will lie in the application of building science and technology, specifically in the context of architectural, interiors, and construction projects. You will be acknowledged for your skills that empower you to effectively manage the design process and utilise your technical knowledge and expertise to offer innovative and visually appealing solutions.

As a fully qualified and ARB registered Architect, you bring a wealth of experience, with more than 10 years in the profession. A key aspect of your role will be a strong emphasis on"delivery," actively leading and mentoring the team in executing technical work. Your technical competency in both BIM and Revit will be vital, as you promote and demonstrate your expertise in these areas. Furthermore, you possess a solid understanding and practical experience in negotiating and managing the development of construction projects.

In your capacity as an Architect, you have successfully navigated and managed various aspects of architectural and construction contracts and you recognize the importance of post-construction aspects of a project, including Soft Landings and other related considerations.

 

What the role includes:

  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant technical and professional standards across projects, maintaining consistency and regularity.
  • Take responsibility for project management, being accountable for the work conducted by the team.
  • Efficiently manage the delivery of architectural and multidisciplinary work, consistently exceeding clients' expectations in terms of brief interpretation, service innovation, overall quality, value for money, and adherence to planned timelines.
  • Strategically plan and manage resources for architectural and multidisciplinary projects, proactively identifying and resolving any resourcing challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with the wider Management Team, actively contributing to the development, communication, and implementation of ideas aimed at enhancing the architectural team's performance.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding associated with RIBA works stages
  • Exercise strict control and monitoring over project progress, ensuring that delivery timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Lead architectural and multidisciplinary teams in resolving issues and effectively managing changes that may arise during project execution.

     

Project Delivery
  • Take on a prominent role in overseeing the technical execution of work carried out by the architectural team, while also delegating specific technical responsibilities to other team members.
  • Engage in the project inception phase,which involves assessing the requirements of clients and users, as well as reaching an agreement on the project brief.
  • Contribute to project planning activities, including the development of project briefs, design concepts, and delivery schedules.
  • Take an active part in the design process, which entails preparing and presenting design proposals to clients, as well as collaborating with the project team to ensure the successful delivery of a comprehensive design.
  • Undertake contract management responsibilities from project inception to completion, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and effectively managed throughout the project's lifecycle.

Competencies
  • Possess extensive technical knowledge and expertise, with a minimum of 15 years of professional practice following ARB Certification. This depth of experience enables you to provide effective guidance and leadership to architectural and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the successful technical delivery of projects. Your expertise also enhances your credibility with clients and all professional teams involved.
  • Maintain a high standard of technical excellence by ensuring that project work consistently meets relevant technical and professional standards.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to technical and design requirements, complying with all applicable technical, health and safety, and environmental standards.
  • Provide valuable input and guidance regarding the technical aspects of our work, adopting an appropriate approach to technical outputs. When necessary, you are capable of personally delivering technical work to exemplify this expertise.
  • Take a leading role in scoping client briefs, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness of the requirements.
  • Thoroughly understand and confirm clients' briefs before accepting them, ensuring all aspects are fully understood and agreed upon.
  • Actively and prominently contribute to the delivery of technical work, actively promoting and displaying technical competency in AUTOCAD, Revit, and BIM.
  • Take personal responsibility for the complete delivery of technical work on projects with construction values of up to £30 million. Demonstrating technical competency in AUTOCAD, Revit, and BIM is integral to this responsibility.
  • Ensure that all work is delivered in a timely manner, managing end-to-end processes and continually seeking improvement. The delivery should meet high technical standards, be well presented, and comply with current regulations and standards. This approach ensures the achievement of operational, financial, and commercial targets outlined in project Business Plans, with a particular focus on health and safety, quality, environment, operational delivery, productivity, customer service, and profitability.
