Associate Architect – Sports & Large-Scale Projects

Location: London
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Our client is an award-winning AJ100 architecture practice, specialising in the design of major sports venues, training facilities, educational projects, and mixed-use residential developments across the UK and internationally. Their multidisciplinary team of architects, masterplanners, and designers delivers exceptional, high-profile projects that push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability.

The Role

We are in search of an Associate Architect with strong technical delivery and design experience, ideally within the sports sector or other large-scale projects. The role requires expertise across all RIBA stages for exciting UK-based sports project. As an Associate Architect, you will report to the Director/Project Director and collaborate with architects and architectural assistants, depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and technical delivery across all RIBA Stages, currently focused on RIBA Stage 2.
  • Develop high-quality architectural solutions for large-scale sports and mixed-use projects.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the technical delivery of projects, ensuring compliance  with UK Building Regulations and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior architects and assistants within project teams.
  • Work collaboratively in Revit, ensuring BIM standards are maintained throughout the project life-cycle.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in sports architecture or large-scale projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit for design and technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage projects through all RIBA stages.
  • Proven experience in both technical detailing and design-led architecture.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage teams and liaise with consultants.
