My client is seeking a visionary and dynamic Design Director to join a leading firm specialising in workplace design commercial fit out within the design & build industry. This is a unique opportunity to lead the creative direction of high-profile projects, shape innovative workplace solutions, and make a significant impact in a once again busy sector.
The role requires a proven leader who can seamlessly merge strategic vision with hands-on design expertise while building strong client relationships and driving successful project pitches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Leadership: Oversee the design direction of workplace projects, ensuring the delivery of innovative, functional, and aesthetically exceptional spaces.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary client liaison, building trust and understanding their business needs to translate them into compelling design solutions.
- Pitch Leadership: Lead client pitches and presentations with confidence, showcasing creative concepts and securing project wins.
- Team Management: Mentor and inspire the design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Market Insight: Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and best practices to the table.
- Project Oversight: Collaborate with project teams to ensure the successful execution of designs, from concept to completion.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in workplace design and the design & build industry. Proven track record in client-facing roles and leading successful project pitches.
- Design Expertise: Exceptional design portfolio showcasing innovative workplace solutions. Strong understanding of workplace strategies, trends, and client requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Experience managing and developing design teams. Ability to inspire creativity and maintain high-quality design standards.
- Communication: Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
